You need to look after your own mental health and wellbeing during your PhD candidature. Wellness is more than being free from illness: it is a process of change and growth towards a mentally and physically healthy lifestyle, which is especially significant during your PhD or Masters research degree.
In order to develop a quality thesis, you need your brain and body to be in peak condition! Everything we feel and do relates to our well-being and directly affects our actions and emotions. In order to subdue stress, reduce illness, and ensure positive moments in your life, you must achieve optimal cognitive, social and emotional wellness.
DM is a not‐for‐profit periodical with a creative bent. It is for anyone contemplating, doing, finishing, starting, thinking about, taking a break from, and even deferring their Research Higher Degree (Masters or PhD).
Mental wellbeing is an important aspect of getting through your Higher
Degree. In addition to our
usual articles, we discuss resilience, perfectionism, pain of completion,
surviving, thriving and the power of positive thinking. Importantly, whatever you are experiencing, you are not alone!
